Cyprus breaks into top 40 of global startup ecosystem index
Cyprus rose five places to 40th worldwide in the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2025 and was again named the EU's fastest-growing startup ecosystem.

Cyprus climbed five places to 40th worldwide in the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2025, published on 15 May 2025, Cyprus Mail reports. Its ecosystem growth rate of 28.22% was the highest in the European Union for the second consecutive year.
Four cities in the index
All four Cypriot cities in the index (Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos) improved their global positions. According to the report, Cyprus is the only country with a population below two million to have four cities in the index.
Sector strengths
According to the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Cyprus ranks:

Recognition
The ranking was marked at Reflect Festival 2025 in Limassol. Deputy Minister Nicodemos Damianou received a plaque on behalf of the President from StartupBlink CEO Eli David Rokah. He said the government's aim is to help technology companies and start-ups grow, work with the local ecosystem and enter global markets, creating jobs and value for the local economy.
